First day at the gym...

Well it was my first day at the gym and I thought I was going to die. Somehow I managed to push through. My husband who has been going for several months now walked me thorough chest and triceps. I'm glad I had his guidance and as much as I would love to never go again I know I need to if I want to see a change. One step at a time I guess.... :p

    Welcome to the gym..

    A couple thoughts..
You should not feel like you're dying on day one, or even week one. Many injuries happen that way, not to mention burnout.
Also, your husband's routine of doing different body parts on different days (= "bro split") is more for experienced bodybuilders. It's more likely to cause overuse injuries with beginners, and it causes more soreness. Beginners tend to do better doing full-body workouts every 2-3 days, or at most an upper/lower body split. If you need a good, pro-designed program, New Rules of Lifting for Women is popular here. Or hire a good trainer. :+1:

Oh that's not good - you should enjoy the enjoy the gym for it to work.

Could you have done a bit too much too soon. I really push myself but not on the first few visits as it was all new to me

Well done you for making the effort, that first time of walking into the unknown is the hardest.
