I took a semi promotion at work to help my company out. I now truly have 4 jobs and or duties going on. I am a bit overwhelmed but it is great otj experience and worth a good interview in the next few weeks, i have a chance at a full time promotion. These 4 roles will expire in the middle of may. So, either way, get the promo or not, I'll be back to normal in mid may. The issue i am having is ever since Christmas and a touch before, I've been in a rut. After my last spartan race in Dec, i have gained 14 pounds... my days have gotten 2 hours longer and on top of that 1 of my 4 duties is baseball coach. So my days are long and somewhat stressful. For the first time, my blood pressure is up as is my weight obviously. I don't exercise because i feel like crap... i feel like crap because I'm not exercising. It's a vicious circle. This week was our spring break... it was 30 degrees here this week and we couldn't really afford to travel. I know if i can make it until may, it will get better. It's just getting there. I know that exercising will help with the stress, i just can't get it together... anyone ever been here before? If so, any advice?

Sounds like a simple case of the winter "blahs". If you are short on time, maybe do a quick kettlebell routine and HIIT for 30 mins in the morning. Walk during a break or lunch or conference call. Run up and down the field when coaching. Remember the expression, "summer bodies are made in the winter." Have some fun during all this work madness.

As for eating, do you get plenty of variety? Pack your meals and snacks each night for the following day? It really helps me to bring everything for the next day in a cooler, with everything pre-logged, then I just eat what I brought. I get into trouble if I need to make spur of the moment food decisions during a busy day--usually end up at the vending machine, candy dish or Chik-Fil-A.

More important than either of those, make sure you get plenty of sleep and drink lots of water. Spring is just around the corner!
