Always thought I was 5'3", but find out today I'm 5'?

So having measured my height this morning, I find out I am not 5'3" as I always though I was.
But I'm 5' tall? I'm so shocked.

I have gained about 14lbs, so could that contributed to my height reduction?

Now I'm having to completely rethink the amount of weight o need to lose to get to a healthy weight for my height, meaning I have more lbs to lose than I originally thought.

When I last checked my height was when I was pregnant and I was 5'2. This is 5 years ago

I have always thought I was just a smidge shy of 5'11" and just found out at the DR's office this week that I'm only 5'9 3/4". Hard to wrap my brain around that...

get your height measured by someone else - preferably at the doctor's office. Your change in height could be purely a miscalculation - that's a LOT of height to lose in only 5 years
    Great post!

I was always 5'7"but apparently I've shrunk to 5' 5.75". I know you shrink as you get older, but it's not supposed to happen before 40! Hopefully I won't shrink more.

Get remeasured. If you are still that much shorter, this might need a bit of investigation. Have you been having back pain?

I am the other way around _ I gained height. I suspect that this is because my core is now so much stronger and I stand up straighter. My father (@73) has regained a cm as well since starting weightstraing - he's got a neck again.

A good way to gain height is to become an astronaut - as they are not subject to weightlessness the spine can relax out agian - dependign how long they ar on ISS they can gain quite a bit of height back (drawback is they can't walk for some time when back dus to not being able to use muscles as much)

Efectively under the pull of gravity we loose height as we age, that starts a lot earlier than we think
