Green tea question

I've been using the Kirkland-Costco brand green tea bags. I drink 3-4 cups a day. The directions state that I should steep the bag for 30 seconds. However- I've been leaving the bag in while I drink it. Is this ok?? Am I doing anything wrong by leaving the teabag in? I like the stronger flavor. Thanks in advance

If you like it, it's fine. Green tea can get bitter if steeped for longer periods. If you like it, make it how you like it.

I do that too! That's my go-to green tea. It tastes great.

Some teas can get bitter if steeped too long; that's all. If you like the drink that results, you're not doing it wrong.

If you like it that way, have at it. A lot of people don't like the stronger flavour as it can be bitter, but if you like it, there's nothing wrong with having it that way.

I like it steeped for several minutes. 30 seconds just seems like flavored water, if that. Gross.

I'm not the only one! I always steep tea for atleast twice as long as recommended.

Most of the "stuff" (caffeine, to be sure) from tea is gotten within tje first 30-60 seconds of steeping. Steeping longer has little not no impact-- even on flavor. Heck I just leave mine in and "warm" them up, up to about three cups worth.

I leave the tea bag in until I'm done drinking it. Shoot, I paid for it. I'm getting every last bit of tea goodness.

Except for chai tea bags. Chai spice gets way too strong if I leave it in that long.
