Calorie Counts in Recipes Question

Just out of curiosity...when you are adding your own recipe, do you include calories for ingredients that are there just for flavor and discarded but not eaten? For instance I am making 20 garlic chicken for the first time tonight. Onions line the bottom and there are several garlic bulbs around the chicken but neither are eaten. They just infuse flavors. Do I leave them out? Or should I count them in? Thoughts?

I'd probably do a portion - so if it used 1onion for flavor - maybe mark it as 1/5 or something like that - but overall, I think the calories for that would be negligable1

If you do not eat them, do not add them to the recipe. Onions and garlic are very low calorie, either way.2
