Hello to all,
I joined MFP a few years back, at least I downloaded the app put all my information
in and then half heartedly attempted to gain control of my body ... Failed or lost focus!
Left for the longest time and have now returned with what feels like a serious attack plan
and its time for lifestyle change!
I'd gained weight before returning and hadn't bothered to change the settings,
did that today and wowzers what a spike but I am not perturbed ..
I am Calorie counting big time, recording everything in MFP
and cycling 20kms (13 miles) most days and some days I do 30kms!
So I figure if I can get my head around this calorie thingy and stick to my plan I will WIN..
Now I've been reading in another section it is not a good idea to log exercise
because its telling me I have burned more so I can eat more and then I am overeating!
Will stop logging exercise or at least stop thinking its alright to eat the more.
and read more up here

Hello and Welcome Back!
It sounds that you are really active and doing great. I would advise you to read other topics about eating back exercise calories. Everyone has his opinion, but if you are wearing a HRM and weighing your food, I think you can eat exercise calories back and still lose weight. Personally I don't weigh my food or wear HRM so I only eat back 50% of exercise calories to make sure I am not going over.0 -
Hi and thank you for the welcome!
I don't weigh my food either and I have no idea what a HRM is ..
Doing my best to be conscious of what goes on my plate,
I even downsized the dinner plates because I found they hold to much and I'd rather look at a smaller plate that looks fuller.
I've reduced all sugars and am concentrating on keeping my carbs down as well ...
I didn't realize the sight was here until this morning and have a lot of reading to do
and yes will take the bits I think suit me for digestion ..
I'm also spending some time on Google+ and reading stories in Fitness groups which is inspiring!
Happy I have learnt about the exercise calories :ohwell:0 -

Thank you Juul76!
I just had a read of your profile and see your success .. Congrats on your efforts!0 -
HRM is a heart rate monitor, used usually combined with sports watch to calculate the calories you burn from exercise based on your heart rate.0
