Saturated vs unsaturated fat

Hi,
I am a bit confused about saturated and unsaturated fat. Till now I thought that the saturated was the "bad" fat compered to poly and monounsaturated.
However, I noticed in nutrition that we are allowed to consume saturated and not unsaturated and also every time I log a food with saturated comes with a green notice indicating that is a good thing.
Could you please let me know how it is calculated and whether the saturated is better than unsaturated or not?
Thank you very much!
Ilianna

The poly- and monounsaturated goals used to be not applicable (N/A), but a few years ago MFP updated the software program and incorrectly changed the daily goals for poly- and monounsaturated fats from N/A to zero (0) and now all of the goals and grams remaining are incorrect. MFP does not care that the goals are now incorrect and confusing to users.
Please see this discussion thread for a more detailed explanation...

Thank you very much CyberTone and sorry for me asking the same question again.
Now it makes more sense and it is weird that MFP have not sorted it out yet!
Thanks again!

You are quite welcome. It is not your fault to ask the question. The ones at fault are MFP for not correcting their mistake for well over two years.0 -
You can go into goals and change the default of monosaturated and polysaturated fats from 0 if seeing those numbers come up concerns you.0
