Seated Exercises?

I have been having reoccurring issues with my left foot for a little over a year now (2 major surgeries and 4 minor ones in the last year).
After more pain and an MRI I was diagnosed with a small tear in my Achilles' tendon. The doctor put me in a walking cast/boot for the next 8 weeks. If I have to go any kind of distance I have to use a knee walker.
I'm not in good shape (5'5, 280 lbs), but I'd like to find a way to exercise. I have found a few things on YouTube, but I thought I'd ask here too.
Can anyone recommend seated workouts that won't bother my Achilles' tendon?

I injured my foot a while back and was unable to walk or run for exercise. I was, however, able to use my Desk Cycle at home. It's basically a small stationary bike-like apparatus that fits under a desk. I was able to burn some calories, and it didn't hurt my foot. I didn't have an Achilles injury, though. Do you think you could use a stationary bike, maybe on low resistance?

I also cut back a little on calories, and despite reduced exercise, I still lost weight. Good luck!!

Sparkpeople has a seated cardio you should be able to google. Last summer I tore my meniscus and could not walk or apply any weight for a few months. I did seated punches with light hand weights and the sparkpeople program to maintain some level of activity.

I did not lose any weight last Summer but did maintain and built some upper body strength.

As well as following some YouTube videos- You could also look at going to the gym and doing a mainly upper body lifting routine using the seated machines.

    Cheers, h.
