Hey, I'm just curious whether anyone uses sites such as weight watchers or slimming world ect along with mfp?

ANY plan can be used with MFP. But the idea is the SAME with all of them...............to consume less calories than you burn to lose weight. Vice versa to gain weight.
The difference is that you DON'T need a diet program to do this. You just log and be responsible for how many calories you eat in a day. And it's FREE.

I was on weight watchers for less then a week and canceled my subscription when I found this site. I was considering joining slimming world but mostly for the weekly visits as I don't socialise much after having my child but it seems like a huge rip off.

It's still all about the calorie counting. Yes there's "supporting" staff there, but IMO if a person is determined enough to really want to lose weight, they can get so much FREE information here. And unlike many of those "supportive" places, you'll not get pacified here to just make you feel good. Many, like myself, will tell you straight up that if you're not succeeding, what you may be doing incorrect and help you fix it.

If you have a bit of wiggle room in the budget and just want some adult interaction have you thought about finding a weekly workout class or something instead?

I have considered it, I am just very nervous about working out with other people. I will have a look at what's around though, I'm desperate for some "me time"

You could also look for a "mommy & me" type exercise class. There you could meet more people in your situation.
