Whatever you find works best for you. You can even set up a meal just for drinks if you want.

I have been logging them in whatever meal or snack they are closest to.

It's entirely your preference. But there's no reason to treat it any differently than solid food.

It doesn't matter where you put them. Just make sure the amount is accurate!

I don't log anything (drinks) with less than about 10cals per serving. I log 100-200ml milk first thing to cover my coffees during the day, and I log anything like fruit juice, lattes, alcohol etc.
But most of what I drink is water, coffee, fruit/herbal teas or diet soda. So I feel like the effort expended logging calories I could count on one hand for these drinks is better placed doing other things.

It also helps that the only time I would have a drink I'd actually bother logging would be a mealtime, or in lieu of a snack (latte when meeting a friend). So I put it in the corresponding mealtime.

i just changed my meals list to breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, drinks, and desserts. . works well for me. that way my recent lists dont get cluttered with drinks and they are all on the same list.

I drink water, black unsweetened coffee, unsweetened tea, and my morning lemon water. A dietician told me years ago to not drink my calories. She said drank calories don't make the body register the full sensation. So I eat whole fruit instead of drinking juice now. But if I did need to count them, I would include them with a meal if drank with a meal and as a snack if between meals.
