I like to put one scoop of vanilla protein, 1 cup of vanilla yogurt, bluberries, banana, and strawberries, (I use frozen fruit which makes it better) Sometimes I'll add a hand full of baby spinach. Enjoy ;) try to stay away from adding water or too much water if you do add some.

I don't make smoothies - I don't find drinking calories is at all satiating or satisfying. I need to eat my food!

I base my smoothies on milk and banana. Then I add one of these alternatives:
    Strawberry (frozen)
    Blueberry (frozen)
    Lime (juice and grated zest)
    Mint leaves
    Peanuts, cocoa (cocoa powder)
    Hazelnuts, cocoa
    Almonds

That would be things that aren't food, and foods you don't like or are allergic to.

I only tend to make them in the summer, but what I do is play around with ingredients to find what tastes good for me. Important to me, though, is that like any other breakfast I'd make it have a good amount of protein and vegetables. I don't tend to use a lot of fruit, although I use some.

One more fall-oriented example (in the summer, though, I base it around fruit in season and enjoy melon and watermelon as part of one): previously roasted and chilled winter squash, fennel, spinach or kale, frozen strawberries, protein powder (plain or vanilla), greek yogurt, homemade cashew milk (the homemade kind includes more fat from the nuts). Often I will add herbs too, like mint or sage or anise hyssop -- whatever I have on hand that seems to mesh well.

My advice would be to make sure you weigh/measure everything you are putting in there, depending on what you put in the cals add up fast (for example, I make a gainer smoothie that can get up to 1000 calories)
