I have been using fitness pal for 5 weeks and dieting for 6. I have gone from 272 pounds to 253. And, now I'm stuck. I started my protein shake diet today hoping to send my body into Ketosis within three days and continue for 14 days. This will consist of 4, 200 calorie (body fortress) shakes per day every three hours starting at 8am. Men's multivitamin, garcina cambogia (don't worry i'm not advertising) and 2 tablespoons of organic apple cider vinegar twice a day (mixed in shakes). And one 4oz pack of sunflower seeds for munching through the day to make me feel like i'm eating something.

WOW, I would faint before I got through a day's work with so few calories to keep me going and most men need more calories than me

When did you get stuck? That's a great loss for 6 weeks. 800 cal is far too low. If you want to go keto go for it but you need to eat more.

Are you sure this is a good idea?

    This doesn't make sense.

I'm not going to say that some very low cal diets don't have their uses (not that I condone/recommend them), but this is definitely the wrong and unhealthy angle to approach one from.

Your weight is going to KEEP plateauing (and often rising) in the short term no matter what you do. Some days you will wake up 5lbs heavier, and hold the same weight for 2-3 weeks, - and your diet will still be on point and working in every way. Weight loss is not linear. You need to account for that and focus on the bigger picture. There is no way a 20lb loss within 6 weeks could meaningfully lead itself to an accurate perception of getting stuck.

Unless you are under the care of a weight loss physician this is unnecessary and unhealthy. You have lost a considerable amount in a short period of time. Congrats! Just because you didn't lose for a few days or even a few weeks doesn't mean you need to be drastic. Continue with a healthy calorie deficit (1-2 pounds a week) and stick to your deficit. Also the "supplements " are unnecessary and won't stimulate any more weight loss than calorie deficits and exercise. This is a marathon not a sprint.

I think that a drastic shift of your metabolism in three days (and then only sustaining it for 14) seems like a very extreme reaction to your history. If you really want to do a very low calorie diet, it seems like getting a physician to give you advice at the start would be the safest way to go.

On the other hand, you might find more support and suggestions from people who have done this over on the forums.bodybuilding.com groups. It seems like the people who do the diet you are suggesting are usually already somewhat fit and using it to help them in training for certain events or specific workouts. They also seem to have a "carb-up" day somewhere in there, which they use to fuel a particularly heavy or specific workout. And most seems to suggest a 1-3 week induction phase, rather than 3 days.

You didn't post with a question, just kind of threw your diet out there for all to see, but I assume you wanted comments. I'd look into getting support from a place like bodybuilding.com's groups if you want to find people that will agree with you on this or tweak it. MFP is where I go precisely because people dissuade me from extreme diets like the one you are proposing.
