Not eating enough calories per day.

Options
I never even get to 1200 calories a day. I usually eat breakfast, skip lunch, eat dinner, or skip breakfast, eat lunch and dinner. It doesn't seem like alot of calories to eat, & yet I can't cram that many in every day. Is this causing harm to my body, or is not getting enough what causes my body to stand still for days & the scale does not budge ? How can I start eating more healthy foods & still have the scale move ?

How are you measuring your intake? Do you weigh everything with a digital scale?

If the bathroom scale isn't moving for a long time (several weeks) then it is not that you're eating too little. It is because you're eating too much.

No. If you're in a deficit, you'll lose weight - eventually. Most likely, you're eating more than you realize at some point in the week.

This might be why your husband is worrying about you overdoing your diet. Fixing this issue will likely make him (and you) feel a lot better. (I just read your other thread.)

I strongly suspect you are not getting enough healthy fats in your diet if you're having a hard time consuming 1200 calories daily. Try adding avocado to salads or sandwiches. Try nut butter (or even just regular butter) on toast. Try snacking on nuts or seeds. Try replacing some of your low fat dairy with full fat dairy. Use a little more oil in cooking. Maybe not all of those things at once, but pick one or two that appeal.

I think 1500 calories should be the lower limit for females trying to lose fat. The caloric deficit should be created by exercising. Eating less calories slows down metabolism.

After seeing your other threads, it really sounds like you may be approaching this all wrong:

All you need is a calorie deficit to lose weight.

Only after an extended period of time (because you'll be a smaller person) and still not enough to stop weight loss. Calorie deficit = weight loss.
