You can eat chips or anything else you like, you just have to stay under your calorie goal.

You'll find that easier to do if you fill up on veg and chicken etc but fit in a little of what you like as well.

It's really easy to tell someone they can eat "whatever they want as long as they stay within their calorie goals" but that's not practical. If they eat, for lack of a better word, really delicious food, they are going to be starving to death by the time they hit their limit. I call advice like this (in any facet of life) a Microsoft tip. It's technically correct, but its not the least bit helpful. Lose the vegan BS, its not healthy. Eat white meats like Chicken, fish, and even, in moderation, pork. Say you want a potato. Instead of filling it with butter and sour cream and cheese, try slicing it and dipping it in a spicy deli mustard, its very good. Want hot wings? No problem, don't batter them, and cook them on the grill. Want a burger? Make a turkey burger, they taste great and are much better for you. Part of losing weight is becoming a critical thinker, especially in the kitchen. Substituting lower calorie food for much higher calorie food is literally a paved path to skinny.

Pre-log your whole day and if you have room for something like a candy bar, enjoy it! Even if you end up 100-200 calories over your calorie goal, sometimes you need that. But by logging EVERYTHING in advance, you make yourself accountable.

Buy ONLY a small-sized junk food treat. Like an individual-sized bag of chips or a small candy-bar. Then you won't be tempted to eat a whole large bag of treats.

keep busy on days that you feel that way, if you find something else to take your mind off eating chances are you will get past the notion to binge.... when we don't give in to these cravings eventually they happen less and less.

I was going to suggest going for a walk or bike ride, but I see you did that. Good job!

if I want to binge on crisps I'll usually do it on Crispy Mini's, they're a lot less calorie dense and even if I make a mess and eat a whole bag I'm way better off than if I had had a bag of Lays.

"Binging" is not a healthy way to eat, regardless of whether you are vegetarian, vegan or an omnivore. Stuffing yourself to try to keep your emotions under control is not healthy, psychologically. Dont try to supress the emotion with food - just feel it! Eating wont make the situation any better, your day will still have been miserable and you will probably end up feeling even worse because you were out of control with food.

Try to find other ways of dealing with stress- exercise is a good substitution as it get you to your weight loss goals in a very productive way - maybe even faster than with just watching your calories. It certainly will help with your body composition. Or go for a walk, and get yourself away from food altogether. Or take a long shower, find a hobby, talk to someone about the situation, go volunteer at a shelter - anything that channels your frustration and stress away from food.
