Ok, I'm back! I'm from Newfoundland, Canada! One week in and down a couple of pounds but hungry and eating all the time, this is exhausting. Would love some really awesome food ideas, snacks mostly that are filling. Not talking about a handful of nuts either, let's talk food!

I make fruit smoothies, they are filling. I'm also looking to make my own chips this week with flour tortillas, and I've been on a salad kick which had been filling me. I had previously hated salads and now I'm obsessed with eating them without salad dressing, just a little olive oil with salt on it... I made one the other day and added each item I put in my salad individually on here and it was less than 300 calories!

Are you eating in the morning? Some people, like me, find that eating in the morning makes you incredibly hungry all day long. Now I don't eat my first meal until between 1 - 2 pm, and my hunger is completely under control. Just throwing that out there for you.

I'm the opposite of Yvette. I find morning food is important to save me from gorging on carbs mid-day.

The usual recommendations seem to work for me. Protein makes me feel satisfied. Overnight oatmeal is a great breakfast. Unfortunately I'm allergic to eggs because they'd make a perfect meal! Apples with peanut butter or cheese. Lean deli meats like roast turkey or ham. Popcorn! You can have a big bowlful! Drinking water with food helps too.

Cutting back in small ways helps too. I found a bread in the organic food aisle that's only 80 calories per slice, saving me 40 calories (for two slices) compared to my usual breakfast. Low calorie mayo isn't my favourite but it's only half the calories! I found an Italian waffle cookie that's 140 calories for six! Would I rather have Oreos? Yup! But these are delicious and more satisfying.

It's also easy to overthink it. Lots of your typical meals are probably well suited for you. Figure out the calorie count of your routine meals and fit as many of them in as you can. I had two beef tacos tonight for about 630 calories!

Lastly, get some exercise and add a few calories to your daily quota. A brownie sundae is motivational for my morning walk!

I can't seem to friend you on my iPad app but feel free to add me to your pals.
