Check out bodybuilding.com and look for a program that suits your needs and equipment.

Do you have access to a gym with a squat rack, olympic barbells and plates?

If so, a beginner routine such as Stronglifts 5x5 or Starting Strength may be good for you. They are 3x a week, full body compound lifts, and follow an ABA schedule. Very easy to follow.

If you prefer to workout at home, there are programs such as You Are Your Own Gym, Convict Conditioning, or the Nerd Fitness Bodyweight Routine use little to no equipment and can be done using your bodyweight as resistance.

The key is for it to get progressively harder as you move on - adding weight or reps.
