Hello everyone. I've been a member here for about a week, so I thought I'd take the time to introduce myself. My name is Lucy, and, until recently, I was the queen of excuses and denial. At first, I didn't want to accept I had gained weight. I was bloated. Clothes were being made smaller than they used to. The picture someone took was at an unflattering angle. Etc. Etc. Etc. Once I had accepted I was heavier than I had ever been, then I had new excuses. The excuses changed, but the problem was the same.

Well, it's time for excuses to end.

I'm taking charge. It's small for now, such as tweaking the way I eat and making sure to move more, but it's slowly starting to work. I didn't gain all this weight overnight, so it's not going to simply disappear overnight either. I know there may be some tough times ahead, but I'm ready to face them.

The Queen of Change is now in the building!

I suppose I should add some pertinent information. I need to lose at least 100lbs. That's not an exaggeration. I can't do a lot of exercise because I have a hernia that requires surgery from where I had peritoneal dialysis, but I can't have surgery until I lose weight. There's also a mass on my upper abdominal area that I'm having a CT scan on the 27th. The doctor suspects it's a tear in the muscle. So, for now, I'm walking. I walk 10-15 minutes at a time, and today I've done so 4 times a day. So that's some of the basics.

Welcome. Feel free to add. I too need to change and quit the excuses. I'm in the same boat. I need to loose about 80 lbs in addition to the 30 I've lost over the last couple months. Stick with it and you will be amazed at how you feel. Physically and emotionally.

I totally understand believing in your own "excuses". It helps with the denial of what's really going on.

Sent you friend request. Good luck, you got this!!
