Because you've expended lots of energy whilst working out.

Are you eating enough overall? Enough protein? Are you getting enough sleep? Are you over training? Lots of possibilities.

Have you spoken to a doctor? I was the same and they have added iron supplements into my diet and I feel so much better, more energy and not snapping the head off everyone cos I'm so tired!

Getting 8hours sleep.. my workout is 3sets of 10x push ups. 6x chin ups. 3 straight bar dips. 6xpull ups. 6xdips and then I do 3 sets of 3x chin ups. 30sec wall sit. 12x dips. 8x squats. 8x push ups. 2x pull ups. 6x leg raises and 7x decline push ups so not really that much get it done in a hour or so.

Protein! I used to get super tired all the time after work outs. Added more protein to my diet and that feeling is gone. Might not work for everyone, but it might be worth trying?

Is this a relatively newish routine for you? When I START a new exercise, I'm more tired for a while. But I adjust.

Are you eating at a deficit?
Your deficit could be too high for the amount of weight you have to lose.

Are you eating back some of your exercise calories?
One needs to fuel exercise that is why MFP is set to eat back exercise calories. Too few or no exercise calorie eat-back can cause lethargy in every day life.

    Are you eating enough protein?
.8-1g per lbs of lean bodyweight may help.

Are you losing at the rate expected?
A higher loss may mean you need to adjust up how many exercise calories you eat back.

How often are you doing this routine?
You probably need to allow alternate test days for recovery. If you are doing your routine 5days a week drop it to 3 and do a less stressful routine the other 2 days.

    Cheers, h.

I am usually a early riser. I usually go to the gym at 4am. I just recently dug out my Tae Bo tapes and started working out after work (finally seeing results). However, I am dead tired in the morning as well. I also work out close to 8pm. I think you should try working out earlier (this is what I plan to do). Then try to get a good 8 hrs in.

Sorry, with no background info I didn't know the circumstances so asked the questions.

As this is post surgery, if you are feeling more knackered than you were in the morning than you were pre surgery I would talk it over with your medical team.

    Cheers, h.
