Hi all,

Information:

Age: 25

Sex: male

Height: 5ft 8

Body fat percentage: just under 10%
Weight on 1st of Jan: 80kg

Current weight 68.5---69kg
Aim.... maintain weight but lower body fat percentage

Hi guys I've done loads of research but I'm getting mixed messages... I'm trying to figure out my activity level...

I have just increased my goal on MFP to maintain...

My intake is custom set to the following:

Carbs 40%
Protein 30%
Fat 30%

As I'm wanting to maintain weight but get lower on body fat percentage, feel free to suggest other settings if you think it would work better...

I'm confused about my activity levels...

I work in a office 9-5... mainly sitting down however daily I do manage to hit my 10,000 steps...
3x a week I do go to the gym... with a pretty good gym plan....
I also do cardio 3x a week (same days as gym plan)
The days I don't do cardio I end up playing a hour of very high intense football

If I'm out and about I always drive, currently my activity level is set on "not very active"

Should I keep it as not active or move it to lightly active

Thanks!!

The higher you set your activity level, the higher calorie goal you get to make up for that activity. That's all that activity level does. MFP plans for you to set your activity level as what you do outside of exercise and then add exercise separately. You can do that or you can set your activity level to include your exercise and then not add any (or as many) exercise calories.

The best thing to do is to use your personal reaction to the MFP maintenance calorie goal to decide if you want to make adjustments later. Give it a couple of months and then you can increase your activity level if you are still losing on MFP's suggested maintenance calories.
