Are you taking any supplements? Many of them contain caffeine as a primary ingredient.
Do you wake up hungry?0 -
Is it your diet or is it that you are working out more later in the day? I know some people who don't working out in the evenings because the extra activity keeps them up at night. You might want to try some herbal teas like Chamomile or Sleepy Time to help with sleeping better.0

What prevents you from falling asleep? Is your mind racing? Are you tense/tight? etc...
I've never been a good sleeper... often times falling asleep easily, but waking up in the middle of the night unable to fall back asleep. My sleep patterns often go something like this: fall asleep ~11pm, wake up ~2am, fall back asleep ~5:30am, up for the day at 7am.
The 2 things I mentioned are the 2 primary reasons I don't sleep well. I've found taking a magnesium supplement *seems* (anecdotal, at best) to help keep my mind quiet, and some good, proactive stretching/foam rolling seems to help keep me relaxed.0 -
Definitely. It's not uncommon for one's blood sugar to dip anywhere from 2:00-3:00am and when that happens the liver often kicks up the glycogen which wakes people up. The best way to avoid this is to eat a carb/protein balanced snack shortly before bed. It can take a couple of nights to regulate but usually it fixes itself after that. The other thing to try is magnesium. It's one mineral a lot of people are deficient in and don't realize. Sleep is one of the big indicators of a deficiency of mag.1
