A few months ago I was put on medications that have the side effect if increased appetite. To say I'm hungry all the time would be an understatement. My stomach is basically this insatiable black hole and I've gained a lot of weight; I am the heaviest I've ever been. Please help, I don't want to stop taking my meds. Is there anything else I can do??????

That sounds really tough. Are there alternative medications you can look into? You might try to find a different brand that has different side effects. Talk to your doctor about your increased appetite, I'm sure they don't want you to constantly be eating either.
I guess my only other advice is to try to avoid foods that will make your cravings worse. Choose foods that are filling and avoid empty calories from things like soda as much as possible. Also, if you're in a position where you can do some moderate exercise, that will at least help burn up some of the excess calories (and may help suppress your appetite).1 -
When I take prednisone, this happens to me...but recently I came to a conclusion. It doesn't make me hungry so much, it makes my stomach hurt...and it makes me crazy...and I eat when my stomach hurts, to certain levels, and when I'm emotionally unhinged...hence eating machine. Is this a possibility?
If not, maybe up the water consumption or boost low-cal high fiber veggies?0 -
It is an understatement to say that you should consult your doctor about this. A significant and/or uncontrolled weight gain can have negative health risks of it's own. Your doctor may be able to put you on an alternative medication or refer you to a specialist that can help. It may also be worth looking into the Keto diet. Check out the reddit.com r/keto community for helpful information and folks who may be able to answer any questions and offer support. I have only been using the keto diet for a short time, though I am a lifelong athlete and, at times, practitioner of specialty diets. The biggest thing I have noticed with this one is that I actually find myself being satiated before I hit my caloric goals or limits. Best of luck!0
