Hydrating during long runs?

I've finally decided to start half marathon training. I'm not a newbie runner, so I'm following the BAA half marathon plan. The first week has my long run at 7 miles which I completed this morning. My last mile I struggled. I've run longer miles (an 8 miler and a 10 miler) without feeling like I needed anything, but today felt different. It was warmer and it was early morning before eating anything. I think water the last few miles might have helped.

So how/when do you fuel/hydrate for longer runs? Do you carry a water bottle? I've seen those belts, but it seems like they flop around?

I tried a roo pouch for my phone/key and it pulls my running leggings down! So I'm stuck carrying my phone and key. I also tried a flip belt and couldn't get my iPhone 7plus into it, so I have no idea if it would work.

I use a SPIbelt for putting my phone in, and they have clip on waterbottles too.

    i have this belt:

i only take water/gels out for runs longer than 10 miles. (i live in the UK so I've only needed water because of the heat maybe once in the 2 and a half years i've been running!!!!)

    do you normally run fasted?

A SPIbelt with a clip-on water bottle works for me. I don't like the hand-held bottles; they give me shoulder pain because I can never find a comfortable way of carrying them.

    I use this one.

I eat around 40 minutes before longer runs. At 60 minutes in I'll take an energy gel to stop my glycogen stores running out if running longer than 90 minutes.

I have a Flipbelt with a bottle designed to fit it. However, your problem may be energy rather than hydration. Try a gel or some dried fruit during your long run.

I have a camelbak, you hardly even notice it's there. Cleaning it is a bit of a pain but I only use it for more than about 8 miles (which I haven't done for ages anyway, ha).
