So this might be a dumb question but my food scale weighs my food in fl oz but Google says FL oz is different from regular oz. How do I calculate my actual oz when I weigh my food?

Your food scale is probably weighing in just ounces. There is a function on most of them that will toggle the unit measurement between say, grams, pounds, ounces etc.
Do you have the instruction sheet from your scale? Is it a digital food scale or something else?0 -
Fluid ounces are generally measured using cups/beakers, tablespoons, etc.0

Its a digital scale. I was curious because I was weighing my chicken out and it says 4 fl oz0

That's odd. I've had five or six of them and none of them said that.
Dunno. I can't imagine why a weight scale would have "fluid" measurements.0 -
It did have regular oz and fl oz. I had to set it to be regular oz1

Some scales have a mode where you can weigh liquids (fluid ounces). It is only accurate for water or milk, other liquids have different specific gravities so their weight and volume are not the same. FL oz is fluid ounce and oz is ounce by weight.

It's so much easier to weigh solid food in grams, and use measuring cups for all fluids.0
