Back to logging...

Hey guys!

About a year ago now, I started my initial journey and lost about 22kg (somewhat 40plb I guess). Started counting again a few weeks ago and dropped another 3kg since then. (it was actually a little more since I gained about 1kg in the 8-9months I didnt log and just ate "normal").

But Im back and I got a few questions - again!

Whats the best way to measure peanut butter? Weigh the jar before and after? I feel like Im really bad at just "eye-measuring" it and dont want it to thus ruin my motivation!

Not eating enough? So basically I started logging back a year ago and after a few weeks of getting a feeling for it just counted it in my head - which worked just fine. I usually stay between 1k - 1.5k calories per day.
This time around I didnt really log or weigh much and just estimated - which is bad I know and Ill start weighing again. But the thing that keeps unsettling me is the whole thing with "If you dont eat enough, you wont lose weight" and from what I read the kind of controversy about it, if its truthfull or not.
To bring it down to my exact question, by now my bmi is normal afaik and Im thinking since Im getting closer to my goal weight which is around the mid to lower range of the normal BMI. Should I maybe slow down and try to keep to my 1.2k calories to be safe?

Im sorry if this is such a frequently asked question, feel free to link me to the other topics! (:

And thanks to everyone who was ever posted here to give me usefull reading material or helped me with my questions! <3

Put the jar on the scale and scoop out what you need. I do that until the scale says -34 grams (or whatever the serving size is).

As for not losing because you aren't eating enough, that's impossible. There are many health-related reasons to not eat too low, but that isn't one. And if you're at a healthy weight, set your goal to .25 kg (~.5 pounds) a week in order to preserve as much muscle mass as possible.

Just answering the easy question here:
If you are going to lick the spoon/knife/whatever implement you use to get the peanut butter out of the jar, weigh the jar before and after. If you aren't going to lick it, weigh the bread/cracker/bowl/glass/whatever the peanut butter is being added to before and after. The point is to weigh the amount of peanut butter you actually consume.

Thanks! I was really torn about this being true or not! I felt like I was stalling a bit but considering its only been 3 or 4 days, I just got paranoid about this way too much I guess! (:
