I've read a lot of times that contraceptive pills can make you gain weight. I'm thinking about getting them, and the doctor told me to use Lindinette wich are adequate for my needs. What do you guys think, can it really make me gain weight? Did this happen to anyone?

It only increases your appetite which you can control. I've lost weight while on birth control pills.

I took Lo Loestrine Fe for a year and a half before experiencing a stroke (I was 29). I'm on Skyla IUD now that contains no hormones.

    It's a myth.

I was on Levlen ED for years and the only reason I gained weight was because I ate too much. Not even that it made me hungrier. I managed to lose some weight on it. I switched to the depo a month ago (in light of the new "women with aura migraines should get off the pill" research) and I've lost weight on that, too.

No weight gain for me on the 3 different brands I've taken.

Increased appetite can be a side effect so if you start eating more then you'll gain weight.
