April 1st Brand name cigarettes will be $8.00 a pack and generic brands will be $6.00 a pack in California ....sure glad I quit 3 years ago...HOLY SMOKES

    Me as well.. that's good they're doing that though to an extent. These people have to realize the amount of money they're spending a week on death smoke..

    They were close to four something when I quit in NYC over fifteen years ago.

    Cigarettes were 25 cents a pack when I was in HS. When they hit 35 Cents my brother said he was going to quit when they jumped to 50 censt. When they jumped to 50 cents, he said he would quit when they hit 75 cents. When they hit 75 cent, he said he would quit when they hit 1 dollar.

    He still smoke 2 packs a day. Glad I never tried them.

    If I bought cigarettes then, that's what I'd have; to eat because a, pack & ½ daily's my, food budget!

    Doesn't mean you still won't have to pay, friend of mine thought he was being smart going to a NY reservation until the $4200 bill from PA showed up.
