    Honestly, I just like the idea of keeping this between us until after we're married. The marriage is about he and I and our families are full of drama. I don't want them to make the day about them.

    Congrats!

    I went that route once and was disowned shortly thereafter by my parents. Hopefully you have better luck. I wish I would have eloped the 2nd time around though because my in laws made the whole wedding process painful.
