Hi is there a group on here that are type 2 diabetics. Just wondering how the weight loss is helping with your FBS.
I can't seem to get back under 130 again. I know exercise helps. How is it going for you?

  • well i have lost 15.5 lbs and quiet a few inches in 6 weeks.....

I went to the dr recently and my blood sugar was down a great bit...i'm hoping next time i visit, i'll be off the meds completely....i will say that this definitely helps me stay aware of what i'm eating and helps me avoid most the stuff i dont need to eat.

Being diligent about the type of carbs you eat and the number of carbs is the only thing that is going to regulate your insulin and get is stabilized, along with exercise of course.

I have been able to get my A1C down to 5.8% when it started out over 7.8% in 2003. My fasting glucose is now down to 92. My most recent blood work it was 127 that morning.............

My doctor has diagnosed me with Insulin resistance, no longer Type 2 Diabetic.

I am on NO meds for blood sugar issues..............I take meds for thyroid, pituitary, adrenal and hypothalamus issues, but no longer the blood sugar issues.

I keep my carbs between 0 and 50 grams per day, eat loads of fresh veggies and some fruit. I eat a higher fat and moderate protein and my insulin levels stay consistent.

Thanks for the information. I think I need some diabetes education.
    I know I'm a carb junky.
I always think of being a diabetic is more sweet oriented.
Good for you to have been able to change your numbers.
