Recovery?

Suggested recovery time/rest days for someone who is going a mixture of light cardio and mixed weights? FYI I'm trying to lose the extra fat I'm carrying but wanting to begin increasing my strength and muscle mass in certain areas. Thanks guys

    I do alternate days strength and cardio with 1 day rest and 1 day active rest, yoga.
    This works for me.

    In general 1rest day, either total rest or active rest, is a good strategy.

    I walk on recovery days ... try to get in at least 2 or 3 km.

    With that level of exercise one day would be fine. Rest days shouldn't be just sedentary. Walk at walk the dog pace, do a bit of yoga.
