Can you help me estimate calories for this sushi roll? Inside is scallops and avocado, its light on the rice but on top there's a very sweet and sticky sauce as well as a spicy mayo-ish sauce that is probably really calorie dense. There's smoked salmon as well (on the outside) sprinkled with fish eggs too!
Take your best guess

That's a toughy, I would probably log it around 600 calories (it's probably less) just based on some sushi I've had and allowing for the sauces.
Looks delicious!2 -

I used to have a sushi nutritional chart - let me see if I can find it1

I'd estimate it at around 650 calories.3

I think that's more salmon... didn't realize it was inside too! Must be salmon and scallops inside. I really want this bad boy to fit on one of my maintenance days lol

From my Internet research: Avocado Salmon Roll 304 calories for 6 pieces. Meaning each is 50.67 calories times 8 = 405.36 [Base is found] Plus the Spicy Mayo for 2 tablespoons is 158. Plus 60 calories for 2 tablespoons of eel sauce leads to the Total amount of: 623 Calories.2

I can live with anything under 700 tbh. Thanks!

Is this like the jelly bean guessing game?
Seriously, I'd log it as a rough estimate and not worry about it. If it's a special occasion it's all good, as long as you don't guestimate every day3 -

This satisfies the part of me who thinks I'm a whiz at eyeballing greatly.6 -

I'm still going with 500ish...I eat something similar with a similar sauce and it's just over 500...I think it's like 530 or something.1 -

Yeah I think I'm going to guesstimate about 650. I don't mind a bad guess here and there but I was trying to fit this in on a cut. Going to definitely have to be a refeed day if I want to be really militant. I'll be cutting another 8 weeks or so with a couple maintenance/refeed days

@kidzfun I wasn't sure does your calculation include the fish eggs and scallops as well?0 -
Going with this. I think it's conservative; I can make it work with maintenance cals for a day. No biggie. Thanks guys4 -
Yum
