Hi,
Just looking for your opinions. 61 days in, and a loss of 2st 3lbs. Weigh in tomorrow. Is this too quick?
Approx 1000-1300 calories per day. Don't eat back exercise calories. I can burn between 400-1000 per day (don't know if the calories in map my walk is accurate). Bloods checked a few weeks back as I did get sick (shingles). I feel good, energetic and not too concerned. It was highlighted to me it maybe too quick. Looking for your opinions.
Thanks
Jo

Try to eat 1200 calories at a minimum right now you're not. If you want to reduce rate of loss update your settings on MFP to lose 0.5-1 pound this should let you eat more. Often people on MFP say at least eat half of your burn calories as well.1

I'd say yes it is, you're roughly loosing over 3 lbs a week. You want to be closer to 2lbs a week. You should eat a minimum of 1200 calories a day but I eat 1440 a day and am losing 2lbs a week (I'm 5'7", 206lbs).2

Doesn't sound healthy...you kind of need calories (energy) for your organs and other bodily functions to function properly...if you're eating 1,000 and burning 1,000 you're leaving 0 for your actual body's needs.
Average woman is going to burn 1300-1400 calories per day merely existing...3 -
Could the shingles have been a sign that your immune system is not working too well due to you not properly nourishing yourself?

Thanks for your opinions. No harm in bumping up the calorie intake. It's been a huge adjustment for me. Prior to this I obviously had bad eating habits (ate once a day around 5pm and sometimes late at night) and I didn't exercise. I'm now eating 3 meals a day, no snacking and iv gone from walking 2km a day to approx 6 - 12km a day. I don't want to burn out. Started strength training (currently sore everywhere ha), so I know I need to look after my body, intake.
Much appreciated. Thank you all1 -
Yes it's too quick. You should be eating more...1200 minimum (if not your goal) PLUS your exercise calories. You're burning through muscle and setting yourself up for malnutrition issues.2

Totally understood. I got sick one time when I was really stressed, juggling a full time job and full time uni. Didn't take care of myself with proper nutrition. That's why I asked.
Either way, you've gotten some good tips here about slowing it down. You need to fuel your body for your exercise AND your everday life.
You didn't say your height and starting weight, but 3lbs a week, even 2lbs a week is usually only good when you've got a lot of weight to lose. I'm talking like 7+ stone.
You may have chose too aggressive a weight loss goal, but you can slow it down now, eat some more to fuel your body properly and still lose weight.1 -
You've lost 0.5lbs everyday which is not healthy unless you are obese,
1) 1200 calories is the minimum net calorie recommendation
2) Eat back some/all of exercise calories
