I started taking glucosamine supplements (2000 mg per day) around Christmas time per the advice of my orthopedic doctor to help with my grinding knees. I got my yearly blood work done last weekand my potassium level came back high. It has always been normal in the past. On the package of the supplements, potassium isn't even listed in the ingredients but my diet isn't high in potassium either. I stopped taking the pills and am having it re-tested in 2 weeks. My question is: does glucosamine contain high amounts of potassium? I just take the over the counter Schiff brand.Or maybe 2000 mg is too much for my weight (120 lbs). Thanks in advance.
