I find it hard to believe this exercise app on here. It says i burned 1200 in 1 hr on the elliptical?!? Doesnt seem realistic when the elliptical says 500.....

MFP is notorious for over-estimating fitness burns. Unfortunately, most machines have questionable accuracy, too. What I generally do is change MFP's calorie burn to what my machine says... and then try to eat back about half. The rest is a cushion against inaccuracies in calorie calculation, exercise overestimation, etc.
Experiment a bit and see what works for you.1 -
I find MFP to be close enough with most of my burns. Not more than 10-20% discrepancy, usually. I generally eat all or most of my calories back and haven't had a problem doing so. But yeah, 1200 in one hour for the elliptical sounds way, WAY over the top! Something is definitely not right with that number.1
