Pre-workout foods

Just a quick poll of opinions. I am joining in a 30 mile group bike ride later today (6:30 PM) and wonder what others would do for food: before or after? Normally when I go on long bike rides its early in the morning so I normally have breakfast before I go (nothing major, maybe a banana and some oatmeal). However, with it being late in the day should I eat something before I go (thinking I might need the fuel) and risk being crampy/bloated/uncomfortable, or eat when I get home (I normally don't like eat so late it will probably be 9:30 or later by the time I get home)?
