Olive oil and other calculations

Ok I just sautéed some veggies using 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Obviously I didn't eat all of the olive oil because there is still some in the pan. How much do you log? 1/2 T, 1 T?

Bump, I'm curious, too. I always just log the full amount that I put in when I started cooking.

I use about 1 tbsp in either a 12" skillet or 12" saute pan and would wager less then 1/2 tbsp ends up in the vegetables even less if your doing it right which means that the pan is hot enough, I let mine heat empty for 2-3 min then put the oil in swirl till it begins to give off wisps of smoke then saute or sear it not just soaking in the oil might also drop less of the oil.

however eating olive oil is healthy and many cultures eat it on nearly everything including dipping food into it.

I'd just log the whole thing. There's no real way to calculate how much is left in the pan (I suppose you could weigh the pan before cooking, then let it cool and weigh it again, but that seems like a ton of work).

Also you wouldn't now how much of what was left is water released from your veggies

Just log the full tablespoon and consider your secret deficit a bonus
