Call me crazy but I love to see other people happy and succeeding .
Good Evening My Dear Friends
Heather, I hope you and your DH have fun on your date today. (later) Oh, sorry about your DH and about your Day Date. I hope you reschedule.
Sarah, April is a great month to enter Onederland. You go girl!
Lisa, sorry for the news on Corey’s wrist. The potential buyers sound promising. I’ll keep my fingers crossed.
Pam, you haven’t worn heels in 15 years and you are going to dance in them? I’d be afraid I’d break my neck or at least my ankle. Lol I have just started wearing a short heel again after probably 20 years and I have to say that I feel so much more dressed up. Good luck.
Kelly, you are so right that our head has to be in the right place to do a good job with our eating and exercising. I know all the years that I was fat, I didn’t want to be so overweight but I also wasn’t ready to eat the way I knew I should. If we could just take a pill and have our minds be whipped into shape. You know we are all here to support you when you are ready. (((Hugs)))
Katla, sorry to hear about the acid reflux. I haven’t had it in a couple of years now, thank goodness but oh do I remember.
KarenVA, thanks for the Olivia fix. Those beautiful eyes just call to me. She is soooooooooooooooooo cute. Hope your partner gets some relief from the doctor visit.
Heather, your Easter trip sounds great. I’m glad you decided to do something rather than sit home alone.
Ginger, what is your plan with all those electronics? I assume you don’t use them all.
NYKaren, I don’t know why you put it off either but glad you finally got to the doctor and on some meds. Please heal quickly. (((Hugs)))
Barbie, I hope Jake starts to feel better soon. It’s no fun when they are sick. My DH is such a big baby when he’s not feeling well.
Lisa, congrats on the March loss. That is terrific.
Barbie, thanks for the new month. You are the bomb. It is just in time so I can wrap up and get to bed.
to any Newbies. Come often and join in the chat. This thing works!! Please sign your post with what you want to be called. It makes it easier for us to respond to you. Also a location is great, be it specific or general. We are happy to have you join us.
Sending love, good thoughts and sunshine to all of you. Happy April and don’t get fooled.
I Love you

Thanks Barbiecat. I'm glad the medicine helped. Thanks for starting this thread month after month. You are our reset button!
Today, I ate really good. I felt powerful! I woke up more refreshed than I have in awhile. This no sugar, low carbs, high protein, and fats really is making me feel better! I do have issues at night when my stomach wishes carbs. But in the morning I feel OK. Craving protein for breakfast instead of bread or cereal. It sticks with me longer.
Today I paid bills, researched some good protein, no carbs or sugars. I will choose one of my choices each week. Most is seafood! Deli turkey, chicken, pork and turkey kelbasa is also on my list. My favorite seafood is salmon, tilapia, scallops, white albacore tuna so its mostly all perimeter of the store foods!
This weekend I shall think of my goals and write them out on my board.
Hugs to you all, my fine ladies!

Hi Gals,
Sue – do the boots have arch support? I like the price!
Heather – “playing nurse” sounds like something you stepped up to. France for a couple of days! Sounds amazing!
Lisa – Great post! Sorry to hear about Cory’s slow healing wrist, but all the rest seems bright!
NYKaren – my Mom used to get UTI every year or so, and is a crappy patient… finally got her to do 6 oz of cranberry juice every day and has not had one since, it’s been 6+ years.
Barbie – take care – sending hugs Thanks for the new page!
Smiles

Goal to get into Physical Therapy to hopefully heal my knee.

Lisa, Thinking of your husband have a look at speeding up bone healing in google and it will tell you what vitamins and minerals are needed for bone formation. Also bone broth is good for it too.
Sounds exciting all of the job changes coming up for you, all the best for Monday.
Pam, wonderful what a milestone getting back into heels. Well done on the steps.
Kelly, all the best with the trip hopefully your hubby's pain meds kick in and he will enjoy it too.
KarenVA. Olivia is beautiful.
Katla, sounds lovely to have an otter on your doorstep I love them too but have only seen them in the zoo.
Leigh, well done on your food planning for your night out. Great NSV.
Heather, good on you hope you have a lovely restful time in France. Would love to go there but sadly probably wont be happening. Instead I watch the Tour De France and see all the beautiful scenery.
KarenNY, check out cranberry tablets or juice, on google, very good for UTI's both in prevention and treatment. Hope you continue to improve.
Barbie, hope Jake continues to improve. Thanks for starting the new thread.
Becca, pretty much doing what you are doing diet wise but I am at the beginning.
New Month,
Goals going no sugar, low carbish around 75gms a day, high proteins and fats.
Aim to lose 4lbs a month but will probably do more as I have a lot to lose.
Go to GP and get chronic disease plan, for referral to exercise physiologist so I feel safe in the exercise I do. Start exercise regimen.
Kicking myself this morning I made up my sons chocolate but forgot to put his meds in only found out this morning when I saw the mortar and pestle filled with powdered meds, makes sense why he didn't sleep last night, haven't done that in ages, blame it on foggy brain.1 -
Gave up on keeping up with the March thread. I'll probably make it here on April 1st and then at the end of the month with my track record.
All is good. Grand baby #12 is getting fat and sassy at just 3 weeks. Mama makes a lot of cream obviously. #13 due in a week, although that mama says it's going to be a week late at least. Going to be a big one though as her other two were over 9 pounds. So my time is spent waiting on getting the call to come get the other two kids. And doing yard work.
Marcelyn
in Houston on baby watch again.7 -
Mummoid. I made a list of proteins I like, and I will rotate eating them. Its crazy how different you feel when you cut out sugar! My gut seems to be happier too! Don't beat yourself up about your kids medicine. I am my husbands "pill queen", and he has to set a 9 pm alarm so won't forget his night time pills! Whatever works right?! Don't put a lot on you plate mentally, or physically, just keep it simple friend. No worries.
Hugs!

Paula- That is such a great NSV, to be an inspiration to your son.
Kim- I'm glad that you could get your nephew the bed he needed.
Heather - Sexual abuse is such a tough subject to broach. You do need to have the discussion with your kids before your memoir is finished. Both my husband and I are survivors of sexual abuse although not by a family member. I once lied to my counsellor and told her that I didn't remember most of it but that was not the truth. I remember ever sordid detail about it.
Katla - I hope your DH gets his glasses soon. He must have been so disappointed.
I had a bout with reflux last night but I should have known not to eat that delicious reuben sandwich. I'm a slow learner. First bout in a very long time.
Lisa - I'm sorry for your news on Corey's wrist. He must be so frustrated.
Congratulations on your 5 lb. loss. I have no clue where I stand this month as I have not been to my weight loss nurse in quite a few weeks.
Karen in Virginia - Olivia is such a sweetheart!
Marcelyn - This must be such an exciting time for you.
Allie - Hang in there, woman. Keep refining your plans and keep your eyes open. Your heart knows the truth. Sending you positive thoughts and prayers.
I'm not going to go through everything that has been playing through my life for the last little while. This post would go on for miles.
My DD and my DSIL have been in the Dominican this past week. The other set of grandparents took a week vacation and moved in with the grandchildren. We haven't seen them all week but are getting together for supper tomorrow. Wilma can be very critical of their household so I hope we don't get into it because I can be very defensive of my daughter. On the whole I think they are doing a great job with the kids. I know the kids will come home to their cupboards reorganized, new bedding, different vitamins and supplements. It drives DD crazy but they mean well.
DDIL flew in on Tuesday for her Grandpa's funeral. She is staying with us but we have seen very little of her. She will fly home on Sunday. There was a huge fight with DS before she came here. He shoved her which is never okay. It is the first time I have ever known him to get physical with her. He is finding a counsellor, going back to his NA meetings, etc. DDIL told me he had phoned and apologized. I told her not to accept it if he didn't do something to help himself. We have all been very worried about his mental health since his brother took his own life. He is also considering going back on his antidepressant. I am praying that he can sort this out.
My older brother has given us each our little lectures on life. He wanted my sister to take some responsibility for her health. He asked her to start walking. She asked me to walk with her. Now she has decided that I am picking on her when I ask her to walk. I do not have the energy for this. It is now in her court to let me know when she is ready to walk. Ironically my big walk today was to her house. Les is home from Texas for the weekend and decided to buy us all Chinese food. It doesn't fit well with No Sugar eating. It was good to see my niece and her fiance. The ring is very nice.
We went to visit my double cousin last night. They have moved him from Calgary to the Lethbridge Hospital. He can't eat so is getting everything through intravenous and feeding tubes. Even with all the anti nausea meds he is still prone to vomiting. They had removed his esophagus , the Cancer is back in the same spot. He has had the maximum radiation. They will meet with the oncologist on Monday to see if more chemo would be beneficial. If they go ahead this will be his 7th round. It was good to see him and share some laughs. We took Sherry out for vanilla milkshake and more of a visit. She just kept saying it wasn't fair. It isn't . Their plan has always been to make it to at least their 60th anniversary. They have made it 51 so far. It is hard, he has always been healthy and active. They were high school sweethearts. This one is really making me sad.
Working tomorrow.
Will post goals later.

Hi all!
I can have my two nights in France for less than my one night in Nottingham or London! It's only a short, v cheap flight and French hotels are much cheaper than UK ones. I will go out for breakfast I think as it's cheaper to have it in a café and the hotel is in the center by the marina area.
DH is fully recovered from his vertigo this morning. Hooray! The Epley manoeuvre was only invented in the 80s, but it must have made such a difference! ! !
Breakfast arrived!

Hello Fabulous Females...
I really wasn't very good about my goals last month. *sigh* And, I have the lack-luster three pounds of weight loss to show for it. My bad. I suppose I can't complain, too much. I did lose - just not very much.
Goals For March -
1) Stay under calories + exercise EVERY day. (I was over on calories 6 days out of 31. So, 80% compliance give or take.)
2) Burn a avg. for each week of 400 calories a day or more. (skipped three days of exercise - so 90% compliance - however my average daily burn was 470 calories - so, I am calling this one a success.)
3) Do Clamshells! (at home - at least three days a week and stretches every day. (epic fail. Maybe did stretches twice or three times a week - clamshells? Not.)
I am hoping that switching it up - just accepting that I can't do less than 1500 calories a day and doing it like I used to do - call myself lightly active and make sure to workout without eating back the calories.
I have been pretty successful at that, actually, this last week. Due to some technical problems, I had to work late, tonight - so I didn't make it to the gym - but, I have left almost 2100 calories on the table since Monday - so, I SHOULD start to see some scale movement, again, assuming I don't lose my mind and go on a chocolate bender.
No news on the job front. I am sure they have to check all the job references, and run my credit, and all like that, before anything can happen. Love me some Limbo...
So, for April... my goal: (just one)
Leave a minimum of 500 calories a day (average) on the table.
I figure, if I can manage that, I will surly lose my pound a week... it IS just math - so it should work, right? Of course, I know... sometimes other things play into it... grrrr. Menopause - a blessing and a curse.
But, I am going to trust in the process that worked for me, before. I just have to keep chugging away at it... and barring acts of the knee gods, I should be able to lose another few pounds.
***************
Barbie - Thank you! You are so good for keeping us all together... Hope the codeine works, and Jake can get some rest.
Lisa - it sounds like everything is coming together... I am thinking good thoughts for selling the warehouse and getting the job! And how cool is it that your current boss is rooting for you? Awesome. I hope Corey can be patient enough to let himself heal.
Pip - if I get the new job - I think I will invest in a heart rate monitor... I will need your advice - since you have basically product-tested them all (to death.) Maybe if my calorie burn info is more accurate, I will have a better chance of losing a few pounds this month.
DJ - Hope your allergies calm down... they have been horrible this year.
Janet - HUGS. Hope we both get a "Miss" on the Tornadoes... I am ready for Spring and a long lazy Summer.
Becca - the high protein, low carb thing really is good... I need to try and do better on the carbs... I have been succumbing to them a little too often. DH seems to think he has to have them to live.
linder4866 *Waves*
Kim - You are a fantastic Auntie... I know your Nephew will never forget this... and perhaps someday he will do something majorly great because he was able to get a good night's sleep.
Margaret - hope you find a GREAT therapy place... they do vary wildly. the one I am going to is fantastic. The one DH went to, not so much. If you feel that the place you are going ISN'T working you to your satisfaction - find another place. (Hugs!!) It really does help - at least it does me - and it's a little like having a personal trainer focused on your lower body... LOL.
Mummoid - Hello! Don't stress too much about the meds... Your boy will survive one night of restless sleep and there is no reason to beat yourself up about a simple mistake.
Marcelyn - ((Hugs!!))
Pam - Snappy Shoes! Time to Boogie_Oogie_Oogie til you just can't boogie no more...
Sharon - HUGS!! Honey, I hope things ease up for you, just a bit. Anything is a "trigger food" when you are stressed out.
Heather - France sounds fantastic... enjoy! *rubs hands, anticipating more vicarious travel.*
Karen/VA - OLIVIA!! How gorgeous is she? Thanks for sharing the pictures. I am so glad she is doing well.
Pat - the doors look great!
Everybody else - I love you guys - but it's late, late, late.... Long past time for me to be asleep.
*************
I hope everyone has a successful April!
Hugs for Everybody!
Re in TX5 -
Thanks for the new thread Barbie.
I don't know what's wrong with me. I've gone completely off the rails and can't find my way back up. Hopefully a new month will help. I'll try to log in, read and report every day. In terms of goals, I'll aim low for this month, setting myself up for success.
Goals for April:
500 g veggies on 15 days (o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o)
Jog a total of 100 km (0/100: o o o o o o o o o o)
Be lighter at the end of the month
Sorry I can't be more supportive. I'm simply not up to it.
/Penny, feeling unusually blue at the North Pole6 -
Quick check in to say that my March goal progress was mixed. I lost 10 pounds, pretty much on track. I did increase my walking for most of the month, but had to cut way back at the end because of my leg. My desk is still cluttered, so failed miserably there.
April goals:
Lose 8-10 pounds
Walk an average of 6000 steps per day, more if the leg improves
Declutter my desk
Penny: sending you loads of rainbow thoughts for a better month is April.
Sharon: so sorry about your cousin, hope his oncologist will find a successful treatment.
Heather: hope you enjoy your French jaunt. If you ever come to the eastern part, let me know.
Charlotte (mummoid): don't feel bad about missing the meds once, it is a really small thing.
Heather: I read today that the UK is returning to the imperial system of measurements with Brexit. Is that true? I would think that would be very confusing.

Good Morning Ladies~
Thank you Barbie again for keeping us together..
I have gotten the boys fed and there pills in them and out to do there business in the rain, has rained all day yesterday and will rain most of the day today..
I might take myself to the movies and go see Beauty and the Beast...
working 7:30- noon today will stop and see DFIL at lunchtime...
I bought 4 bags of Easter chocolate and I tried a couple of pieces.. and you know what? it did nothing for me.. and they have been sitting there for 3 weeks... so thats good..5 -
Penny - Sending (((((HUGS))))) I have those blue patches too. I had one last weekend, but it's passed, thank goodness. Checking in with us and not working so hard might do it. :flowerforyou: I'm sure all that editing can't be good for your mood.
I managed to put on a bit of weight in March. I regained the weight I'd lost through my illness in Mexico. So I commit to not eating back all my exercise calories on home based days. At least 100 under. That gives me 1700 to play with which is fine. I want to lose 2 lbs. They are very pesky pounds and like to stick.
Every day I complete my exercise regime it feels like a miracle. 1 hr 40 mins. I really can't believe this is me. Also a huge sense of relief that I can eat. I do a bit of everything every day except on yoga day. Rowing, elliptical, cycling. Then mat work - bit of yoga, pilates, balance work, plank. Then dumbell lifting and more balance. Then, DONE!
Tonight we are having the Hairy Bikers' Lamb Tagine. Yum!
Kim - I enjoyed playing doctor. I followed the U tube video of two consultants doing the manoeuvre. DH is completely back to normal today. It really frightened him.
Karen - I often go away to visit people without DH , but it's some time since I went on holiday entirely alone, with no tour group or anything. Usually there is someone to meet at the destination. I did go to Santiago de Compostela all by myself for my 50th birthday and I adored the place, but I was a bit lonely eating all alone on my birthday. The waiter was very nice to me. I wasn't happy in my life then though and had no one to come back to. I hope this time it will feel less strange. I do start to go a bit bonkers if I am too long by myself!!!
If I don't visit France for a bit I start to get a bit of yearning. I love speaking French. La Rochelle was the easiest, cheapest place to get to and my yoga friend really enjoyed it. I've holidayed with DH just over the bridge on the Ile de Re, where you can hire cycles and spend the whole time cycling about - fabulous! But we didn't go to La Rochelle as there's a toll on the bridge!
Now I'm doing all this booking I'm going to have to get the #@$$÷× printer attached to the new modem. $÷××%=÷×+!!!!!
Love Heather UK xxxxxxx

Penny Just do the vegetables. The rest will come. Remember when you told us you didn't really have good success until you started eating 500g of raw veggies a day? Start there. We love you!
Barbie Thanks so much for the April thread.

Dancing class again today, 1st time with heels so I have sore feet, didn't feel like cooking so happy I have pre prepped stuff in the freezer, daylight savings ends tonight, 25000 steps today
Pam in Adelaide7 -
Hello and goodbye! Just wanted to check in, catch up with all of you, and bookmark April before I set out! This will be the first major road trip for DH and I together; the first time in a car together (without necking) longer than 4 hours! It is a test. Pray for me. I will check in tomorrow when we arrive in Burleson! ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kel)5

Happy April, my busy season for the next two-three months.
My goal will be a simple one like many of you-Leave some calories on the table be it not eating my burned exercise calories or cutting leaving out the sugar or fat in a small way.
Thanks for all the well wishes for my UTI, I'm on the mend but with a bladder and uterine prolapse, I tend to be very prone to them. After i'm done with the Rx, I will try cranberry supplement, can't stand to drink that juice!
So a full day without my iphone...sends a chill up the spine for some, no? Lots of errands and back to the gym, I'll check in with everyone's goals, they are so motivating to me.
Thanks Barbie for setting us up for success, strategy is stronger than will power. I'm hoping Jake is on the mend and turned a corner now that he's getting some sleep.

Hi everyone
Brenda in Hanceville Alabama4 -
Got some bad news last night - our son has been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, and has been cutting. Don't know for how long--he's not terribly forthcoming. We talked to him at length last night (he's in Montana) and he told me about the cutting, but didn't speak of it to his dad.
All I can do is hope for the best and be at the other end of the phone.
Feeling helpless,

Brenda, welcome. I hope you will keep coming back. Tell us about yourself. You will find one of more of us that you identify with. What we have in common is a desire to be healthier and a wish to support and encourage each other.
