It's time to get serious about fitness

Hello everyone. I'm fat. I'm also motivated to lose unnecessary weight. Running is difficult for my 60 year old body, and walking is boring. I've decided to commute to and from work on my Orbea Loki 27+ H10 bike. It's a 30 minute ride with plenty of hills to get the heart rate up. I'm going to keep my calorie intake right around 1,600, and cut back on the red wine and beer. I've bought a really cool gadget to monitor heart rate, speed and cadence. It has a GPS so when I go bike packing I won't get lost when there is no cell coverage.
