Don't Compare Yourselves It's EVIL! or Maybe Not?

In the fitness world we are told over and over again, not to compare ourselves to one another. That we are on "our own journeys", which we are. I don't think anyone lives out life the very same way minute to minute. We are told this... but we still compare, finances, morale, and our physical bodies. In an ideal world, we would walk around blindly never noticing the man or women standing next to us. In reality we are not blind, and we do compare which I believe is very healthy. HOLD YOUR HORSES! Before you decided to douse cold water on me and scream telling me that's everything wrong with the world, consider this. Before 1958 people believed it was impossible to run a mile in under four minutes until Britain’s Roger Bannister did it at 3:59.4. Roger didn't even have a whole year to bask in this accomplishment because seven weeks later Australia’s John Landy finished in 3:58.0. So, what if comparing ourselves makes us all better, as a community? I say do it, and do it to the max. If you like this add me as a friend here and we can compare and motivate one another!
