Just eat regular food......in smaller portions. I take my standard recipes & tweak them until they fit my goals better: http://www.skinnytaste.com/

By eating "regular food" you will figure out what's higher in calories than you thought. You're also likely to find things that just don't justify the calorie expense. Your list of "not worth the calories" is going to be different than my list.

A list of foods to eat "while on a diet"......is going to be helpful for losing weight. That's only the beginning. You also need to make some permanent changes to keep the weight off.

Add some friends with open diaries and peep their entries. There are far too many to list!

It's really hard to make suggestions without knowing how many calories per meal you are looking for and what types of foods you like.

have no idea how many calories you are wanting or what kind of stuff you are trying to watch ( ex: carbs, sugar, fat) but i have a idea that`s tasty and my dinner every night but it can work as a snack or whatever. all you need is one cup of multi grain cheerios and one great value light yogurt ( that is walmarts brand if you don`t know and their are a few different flavors to choose from) mix then together and enjoy it should be 190 calories but you can always use yoplait light yogurt which is 90 so that would be 200 or you can use dannon light and fit greek which would be 80 which makes it 190... its up to you however you do it but its good and tasty and healthy

Snacks - oats, greek yogurt, grapes, pineapple, celery and hummus and I like certain protein bars
Some recipes that were a hit -not necessarily super low calorie, depending on your portion -
    Turkey burger casserole
    Healthy pasta bake
    Turkey chili
    Turkey burgers
    Chicken rice bowls
    Chicken fajitas
    Meatloaf muffins
    and so much more

I get a lot of my recipes from Pintrest and then as others have said I will 'tweak' them to suit my taste or nutrition.

    Goodluck
