Hi everyone , hope you guys are good and on a good journey with your plan..
I am losing i guess but my intake of calories a day are 1300 i would say i am only then eating about 1100. I have 3 stones to lose , i have lost 1 stone so far, it has taken a long time to shift that. I started taking things more seriously, i was say in the middle of Feb and happy with the loss, now i keep thinking that am i eating enough ? i have read on here that people are on around 1500 i thought that would have been right for me as well.
I am not active at all really i do go out on Sundays and Mondays on my days off to walk as much as i can, other that that im mainly sitting..
My Macros that i have set are Carbs 50% Fats 30 %and Protein at 20% does this sounds about right ? if anyone an help i will be grateful of any help. Thanks

Hey Niyra! Congrats on losing a stone already! Eating 1100 calories a day does seem very low, do you often feel hungry? Do you weigh yourself daily, and if so, do you know how much weight are you losing per week/month?

If you are losing anywhere from 0.5-1.5lbs per week (2-6lbs per month) then I'd advise you to stick with your current calorie limit. However, if you are losing more weight than this feel free to up your daily calories by a couple of hundred and see how you do with that  You don't want to starve yourself, after all!

Your macros (50:30:20) are commonly used for weight loss - if you're happy with it, then keep at it. If you feel like trying something new, you could try increasing your fats (healthy ones, I hope!) and decreasing your carbs slightly, e.g. 40% Carbs, 40% Fat, 20% Protein.

The obvious recommendation is that you try to increase your activity levels a bit more, especially if you are currently spending most of the day sitting. Try to do some walking on your work-days if possible, but I understand that you are probably quite busy.

Also bear in mind that I am simply giving some friendly advice, I'm not qualified to be telling you what to do, haha.

MfP says 1300 and you are eating 1100. Instead of going to 1500 actually eat your goal 1300.

If MFP says you should eat 1300 then that's what you should eat. The minimum recommended calories for women is 1200 so you should really try to avoid eating under that. Other people have different calorie goals because they are a different height, weight, or activity level. I'm currently losing on around 1500-1600 calories per day but I'm sedentary, 5'11" and 183 lbs.

What do you mean that your intake of calories is 1300 but you are only eating 1100? How many are you putting in your mouth? There's a lot of confusion about net calories on here and I can't tell if you are eating 1300 and netting 1100 or if your goal is 1300 and you are only eating 1100.
I have 3 stones to lose , i have lost 1 stone so far, it has taken a long time to shift that.

How long did it take to lose this weight?
I started taking things more seriously, i was say in the middle of Feb and happy with the loss,

How much have you lost since mid-February?
now i keep thinking that am i eating enough ? i have read on here that people are on around 1500 i thought that would have been right for me as well.

If you are not losing overly-rapidly and are feeling okay (not tired/worn out/overly hungry) don't be concerned with how much you are eating compared to others.

I am getting hungry , and when i say i am on 1300 calories a day but i dont use them all up and i am eating about 1100 or about.. i have lost 1 stone from 17th Jan till yesterday 3rd April.. 3 weeks of March i didnt lose anything because my son thinking he knew best messed my macros up and my in intake of calories and me being silly thought he knew best lol.. so i was looking at the eight and nothing was happening.. So i went back to what i was before and i am now losing..but yes i would say i do feel hungry and should i eat the full 1300 a day ?
You know when the diary is complete for the day and it tell you what you could be in 5 weeks, well mine keeps changing does that do the same with anyone else ?
I might try and change my Macros around a bit.. but my diet does consist of more carbs i would say..

Thank you all for all your help and its helped me a lot thank you... :)

So you've lost 14 lbs in say 10 weeks? That's kind of awesome.

If you are not using a food scale for all solids, you are probably eating more than you think. When I committed to weighing my portions I found I was easily eating 200-300 cals more than I thought.

What was your starting weight and what is your goal?

Kimmy72... I weigh everything that passes my lips lol..
I actually love weighing things, its kinda fun.. I will try and eat all my calories, just that i feel stupidly guilty and then when you complete the diary its says how much you will lose in 5 weeks mine keeps going up an down, so i sort of eat a little less than my daily 1300..this is wrong ?

Your calorie allowance is set to allow whatever loss you posted as your goal. So if your goal was 1 pd per week, then maintenance would be 1800. You should aim to eat at least 1200, and ignore what mfp says 're projected weight cause being female it may or may not be right depending on TOM

Ignore the 5 weeks projection, it's a gimmick. If you have less than 50 lbs to lose, 2 lbs per week is very aggressive. 1300 is not a lot of cals, it may be appropriate for some, but certainly not an amount to feel guilty about. Eat them!

So I'll add a couple more suggestions :)

    1. Work on removing emotions and morality from eating. The only reason you should feel guilty for eating something is if you stole it. How or what you eat doesn't make you a good or bad person. Food is fuel and we are lucky enough to be able to enjoy it too!
    2. Remember that weight loss isn't linear (which is why that 5 week message is garbage). Even if you do everything perfect every day, some weeks you will lose alot, some weeks a little, and some weeks you might even gain. Keep your focus on the long term trend, over weeks and months.

aw thank you Kimmy, ..I have 44 lbs to lose and i started off with 1300 calories, and do at times feel hungry, as you may know i have lost 14lbs till this week.
44 more to go its a long journey, which i am sure i will get to. The guilty part is from having a sweet or chocolate and sometimes a bag of low calorie crisp and everything that i eat is counted in my daily allowance, i dont often do this because i feel as if im doing something wrong lol.. so lets see if i can improve things thank you for your help.. x

No foods are off limits or guilt inducing

Account for it in your daily calories and enjoy every bite
