creating own recipe

I started to create my own foods for every staple I have at home, instead of trying to figure out every time which one in the general database is the correct one. So when I log my calories, I pull from my own foods. Now I was going to create a recipe including some of those staples, but I don't seem to have access to my own foods, all it lets me choose from is the general data base. Am I missing something?

The newer Recipe Tool search will not find a user's personal My Foods. It is lame.

I use a two-step method. Build the recipe in a empty Diary meal slot, save it as a My Meals, then use the Old Recipe Calculator, available on the web version only, to search for the My Meals and import it.

Here are the instructions I posted...

Wow, I just created a recipe the way you described, and it worked perfectly! This is the second time you helped me with a food-related question, thank you so much for taking the time to do that! It's been 2 weeks here and still a lot to learn. Have a great day!
