Holiday logging

I'm heading off on a cruise and won't have internet for the duration. I really don't want to stop logging so is there an option to log my meals after I get home if I make a note of them while away? Also how will this affect my logging streak? Will it go back to 0?

If you don't log in, you don't get a logging in streak....

Yeah, your logging streak will be lost if you have days at sea. If you hit a port daily you can get free internet most places (Caribbean & Europe) in bars and cafes.

I tried to do that my first cruise and to be honest I didn't last 2 days. Being on a cruise and stopping at different ports was way too exciting for me to spend time filling in my log.

I soon found if I ate portions similar to what I ate logging, and drank light beer during the day, saving cocktails for night, I didn't put on any weight.

I am quite active on port days and the amount of exercise I got having fun counteracted the excess cals I may have eaten experimenting with new foods.

You will gain water weight. More salt in the food, flying, heat all lead to retention so don't get upset if the scale is 5-10 higher the first week you get back. If you can (I just can't resist), don't weigh in until a week after your return and you have your regular eating habits re-established.

Go have fun. The most I have ever known anyone put on was 1lbs a day. That was my BiL and it was a heck of a lot of food and drink that man put away. B)

    Cheers, h.

I would take the break from logging and enjoy it. Just don't forget to eat in moderation. Listen to your body, eyeball your portion sizes and do your best not to overeat.

I make the exception for holidays and vacations - just take a break and enjoy yourself.

The purpose of MFP is to build habits that will last a lifetime.
