Need advice on diet plan!

Ok so last week I had a cheat day on Sunday, ate very clean (no processed foods, sweets, etc.) Monday thru Friday (with no cravings!) and figured I'd let myself cheat on Saturday. I ate within my calorie range the next day, but I noticed cravings starting to creep back in. I didn't eat clean (processed/fast food) even though I stayed within calorie range. Since this wknd I've started bingeing again UGH! Is it the processed food that makes us binge and crave foods? All I've eaten today is sugary/salty stuff. Oh I gained back everything I lost last week and I'm so mad!
So, what should my game plan be? Eat clean, whole foods for 2 weeks straight, then have a cheat day? What are your thoughts?

It's okay to "crave" foods. And you can usually eat them in moderation and still fit them into your daily caloric allotment. There's nothing bad about food cravings. You just have to learn to not OVERindulge. And you don't have to give in to every single craving. Will power, my friend. Eating "clean" is great- more power to ya! But it isn't necessary to lose weight or stave off cravings.
Maybe this is why I keep falling into this trap every time I try to lose weight? I do well for a while, then cave and binge on anything and everything!0 -
Save a few extra calories a couple days a week for a small treat..I like a half a cup of ice cream (my weakness) its better then going with nothing all week then going overboard on the weekend. If I find I want more after half a cup I try to keep my mind busy. Adult coloring books help me.1

I've noticed that the more keen someone is to label food items as good/bad clean/junk etc the more likely they are to complain of being "good" and then blowing it all on a binge.
I have also noticed that there are some people who can lose weight and keep that weight off, whilst eating cake and other such treats on a regular basis.
Have a think about it.3 -

Yep. OP you need to work on balance and moderation... think long term lifestyle changes not quick 'diets'1 -
I try not to plan 'cheat' days. I challenge myself to work through every day the best I can. A success feels better than a cheat! However I am human so if an occasion arises I feel like it's a "reward" day instead of a cheat day. And you have to throw them out the window and don't let them get you down...don't look back. Focus on your successes and stay positive.1
