I'm gaining weight and I'm not sure why.

I've been under my nutrition goals (calories) every day except for one and I have been faithful with going to my water endurance class and yoga. I was steadily losing weight (12 lbs - far from my goal but I am still proud!) But since Friday, I've been 3 or 4 lbs up. I don't think I'm gaining muscle so I just don't know what is going on. I was prepared to handle a plateau but not gaining weight when I'm working so hard.

It's not muscle. Most likely it's water weight. Have you recently eaten a meal higher in sodium or carbs? Are you at or near your TOM?

    Period? New exercise? Sodium?

Even miscalculating by a couple hundred you're not miscalculating by 120000 over your maintenance. Maybe some higher than normal sodium foods? Tom? Carbs disproportionately high than what you normally have?

To gain 3 or 4 lbs of bodyweight vs. waterweight and/or food moving through your system, you'd have to consume an excess of 10-14,000 calories in that same 3 or 4 days. If you didn't do that, you can rest assured it's not bodyweight but water weight or waste passing through your system. Give it time, eat normally and it will even out.
