... By weighing myself once around 8am, and then weighing myself again around 12pm. I spent the time in between lying in bed reading because of a backache. No, the toilet was not involved.
Just wanted to share this little factoid with anyone out there who might be staking his or her mood and self-worth on minuscule changes in frequent readings of the scale. #dontdoit
"41 pounds lost... oh, darn, only 40... no, wait, 42! Feeling sexy and can haz cookie today!"

haha, thats funny cuz I do the same thing too. I mean, it's obviously not actual fat loss, but I still kinda enjoy seeing the scale numbers drop so quickly. Try it before and after running! I can sweat off 4 whole pounds in like 90 min :bigsmile:0

Last week (I weigh Wednesdays), I thought I had been particularly vigorous in my exercise routine, and of course I had eaten correctly all week, and THEN- I stepped on the scale and had gained about 1 1/4 pounds!
NUTZ, How could this POSSIBLY have happened? I lose weight EVERY week, this just wasn't right, how could I live through another week until my next weigh day? Was it the heat? The humidity? The phase the moon was in? Weak batteries in the scale? WHAT?
Looked down carefully at the scale- found a small thick piece of cardboard under one of the little scale feet. Turns out I had actually last a little over 2 pounds, confirmed at a doctor visit the next day.
This is in fact the last dark place left in my current quest to repair my relationship with eating/food. I no longer binge or crave. I no longer ruminate mentally about my next meal 23 hours out of the day. I no longer resent those people in my life who can eat casually and remain slim. BUT oh, how I despise the love/hate I feel for that scale!0
