Butter for food not to stick.

I usually use butter for my eggs and such to not stick to the pan. Most the butter is gone before I even add the eggs. How do I count those calories?

It's not gone, it's just melted...9

I count it all.1

Yeah, just count 1-3 grams of butter if you're just greasing the pan. 1/4tsp.0

Weigh the butter before putting it in the pan. Add calories.6

It isn't gone, it is coating the pan. part of it will stay on the pan and part will stick to the food.0

I use cooking spray - very negligible so no need to count and it keeps the eggs from sticking2

Log everything you put in the pan. Weigh the butter. Log the calories.
If it's too many calories either use less butter or switch to a cooking spray.1 -
It's a very slight overestimate if you count it all as ending up in the dish, but that's not going to hurt you.1

I use 7 grams of coconut oil when making my eggs every morning. I log it all. I would suggest you do the same with your butter.2

This.
Why not log something so high calorie? It didn't evaporate.2 -
Non-stick pans FTW!1

In general, I agree. With eggs? PSHHHH. (I'm weird, don't hate me.)0 -

You are more to be pitied than censured.4 -

... I also make grilled cheese with olive oil, not butter.
I'll just show myself out...3 -
Eggs should be made with bacon grease as the . . .lubricant. I thought we were in agreement on that.5

I wouldn't worry about it unless your calories are close to going way over. I don't count anything over 25 unless my deficit is less than 250. then I add it.0

I love butter with certain foods- sometimes it doesn't taste good without it- I literally open one end of the butter stick, and rub it quickly around the pan, it coats it in a very thin layer of butter, and I end up only using a hair of it, so I usually don't count it.
Otherwise I agree to weigh it first then count it!0 -
The only part that's evaporating is the water in the butter. The fat and calories are still there.1

I depend on well seasoned cast iron pans and I use a silicon brush to oil the pan as it is heating. That way I get non-stick and lower calorie.2
