How do you get food from the "database" to your foods????

I am so frustrated I find the foods on database but cant figure out how to move them to my food it wants me to add new foord items instead of transeferring the food that is already there.

    Are you using the web version? If so, there are two different ways to search the Food Database.

    The first way is to browse it and edit an entry; that is probably where you are looking. That is found at FOOD > Database.

    The second way is to start by navigating to your FOOD > Food Diary, then choosing a meal slot (such as Breakfast), then clicking Add Food. That will bring up a web page with a text box that you can use to search the Database. From there, you can then add an item to the meal slot in your Food Diary.
