Hello,

With mfp cal deficit I have 1200 cals to eat per day. Which I can only just eat.

Do I add cals burnt at the gym to that? I burn around 300 on treadmill and then I do weights, use leg machines or classes which I can't calorie count.

Just I can't always eat the 1200 calories never mind adding more.

Thanks
Wendy

If you can't always eat 1200 calories......make better food choices.

Calorie dense foods pack a lot of nutrition in just a small serving

The reason you don't want to eat just 1200 calories is because MFP gave you a calorie deficit BEFORE exercise. So it's like giving your body 1200 - 300* = 900 calories in fuel. Large deficits make it harder for your body to support existing lean muscle mass. Strenght training helps.....but you need fuel.

1200 is already low....it's a default minimum. That's fine if you are very petite (or elderly).....but most women can eat more & lose weight.

*Calorie burn estimates.......did you use a heart rate monitor for the treadmill or go by the machine? Machines are notoriously generous.
