I worked up to 10 miles at one time over the course of a couple months but now I have tendinitis in both feet and cant walk anywhere without severe pain. Any suggestions on how to prevent this and how to recover quicker? I stretch a lot and have been doing lots of calf raises which seem to help, though they are very painful.

15 miles. But whenever I can back to my normal routine (argh, injury!), I'll stick to my fast 3-5 miles and lifting. I was really seeing diminishing returns from distance running (plus my knees would hurt after a few months of high mileage) and I just stopped loving long distance.

Recently the longest continuous walk I can recall is 8 miles. I've ridden my bike 80 miles twice in recent years for charity rides.

Running 8 miles once. Trying to get past the 10k 6mile range, break into 8 and 10 regularly.
Walking would be 10 miles, 15 when I was hiking.

I did around 7.35 miles on my run this morning. I was aiming for 7.5 but my GPS wasn't cooperating.

    Walking? I have no idea.

26.2. About 30 if you count the walking after. I haven't walked farther than that, probably 20 is my max for walking.

Run - 5 miles, but I usually only do this once a week. I get in 5K almost every day
Walk 8 miles, but I could do more, it's just that's where I stopped

About 6 miles outside. I was super slow, finished it in like an hour, lol, but I didn't have to stop!

43 miles in an 8-hour run/walk ultra. I had run a marathon the week before that and had no idea how far I'd get in the ultra - I was merely hoping to reach the marathon distance.

As an adult, longest run was 5 miles. Hiked longer as a kid; no idea how long but over 10 miles for sure.

I've ran over 30 marathons. My longest was 5 hours long in Buffalo last year. I was the pace leader for the 5 hour group.

13.1mi 12 years ago! I was a mess afterwards - my hip hurt like crazy and I ended up taking a few months off from running. I told myself never again. But...

A month ago I ran 9.83mi on the trails just for fun. I was tired and a bit sore, but felt great running the whole time. I had been sticking to 3-5 mile runs and not interested in longer distances mostly out of fear of injury. But After that long run I decided to start half marathon training. I'm running 9 miles tomorrow morning.

13 hours without stopping in the White Mountains in one day. It was 10 years ago and part of a 4-day hike. Life lessons are learned with something that hard.
