Fit bit steps subtracting from my calories?

I have my activity level set to lightly active.
So far I've walked about 8900 steps today and I'm sure I will be well past 10,000 by the end of the day which is average. I entered my Brazilian jujitsu is 400 cal… And it actually took calories away from me. What's going on??
Why does it say calories from exercise are only 386? When I know I burned more than that just from jujitsu alone and that's not counting my other steps walked? Does anyone else know how this fit bit sync thing works?

Oh also I forgot to add I did cardio at the gym this morning plus weights… I used my fit bit so I didn't manually enter it on my fitness pal, and it still doesn't really give me anything extra. It's weird how these things work.0

Fitbit looks at your activity for the day as a whole. The adjustment isn't just for exercise but is comparing your calorie burn on MFP to Fitbits. If your estimated TDEE from Fitbit is higher than MFP's calories are added. On the other hand, if Fitbits is lower you lose calories.
For me Fitbits without a HRM underestimate by about 200 calories a day. The models with the HRM's are closer to accurate for me.
That said, your adjustment is telling you that your Fitbit burn is less than your MFP activity level + 400 exercise.
You might try deleting your logged workout from both sites (it transfers to fitbit when you log on MFP) and see what your adjustment is bedore you log the workout (give it a few minutes for adjustment math to change after removing the log.)

That is normal with the Fitbit when you log a cardio activity in MFP. If you look at the math, the total Fitbit Calorie adjustment is probably the same as soon as you log the activity in MFP. The syncing process just transferred the accounting of the total Calories for that time period between MFP and Fitbit. The accounting process will readjust each time the two programs sync. By midnight, the adjustment will most likely be different, but it will remain accurate based on the final sync between MFP and Fitbit.
I don't bother logging cardio in MFP, unless it is a C25K session which is synced from a different app, and just let the MFP and Fitbit sync work as they are designed. I've lost and maintained doing it that way.0 -
